I went to the first author event presentation Sept. 8 at Kitsap Publishing, 1450 NW Finn Hill Road, Poulsbo. Marnie Holt Swenson presented and read from her book, “Migratory Moment.” It’s a book of poems and she says it is written from the perspective of a very young child — before they can really understand anything.
The Kitsap Peninsula has long been a draw to people who have crafted unique lives and livelihoods for themselves. Lynne Ferguson is just such a person, and here on the Kitsap Peninsula she has created a life for herself that allows her to pursue two great passions from her childhood: Native horsemanship and music.
Bill and Barbara Erickson celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Aug. 20 with a gathering at My Girl Drive-In Museum in Kingston.
There are many, great garden-worthy plants that spread out over a garden. I’ve grown quite a few of them. Then there are the garden thugs — plants that romp around overtaking anything not big enough to stand up to them. I’ve grown too many of those bullies.
