Kingston bid farewell to longtime resident Aurthur Melvin Steele with a funeral service at Faith Lutheran Church Saturday afternoon.

Steele, a World War II veteran, moved to Kingston in 1950 and worked as a ticket taker for Washington State Ferries for three decades

Steele died Sept. 5 at the age of 91.

Following the service at Faith Lutheran, a horse-drawn cart carried the casket to Kingston Cemetery off West Kingston Road for burial.
