Firefighters host free 9/11 benefit breakfast

September 5, 2012 · Updated 4:32 PM

KINGSTON — The commissioners, firefighters and staff of North Kitsap Fire & Rescue invite all to join them for their annual community breakfast from 7-10 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 11 at the district’s Paul T. Nichol headquarters fire station, 26642 Miller Bay Road NE, Kingston.

It's become NKF&R’s tradition to remember the many people lost on that terrible day 11 years ago, by bringing neighbors together to strengthen community ties as well as to benefit organizations with the same goals.

There is no charge for the meal, which will include bagels, muffins, croissants, fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, cheeses and much more. Donations will be accepted for the North Kitsap Schools Foundation (www.nkschoolsfoundation.org) in support of their efforts to restore enrichment and remediation programs that have been cut from local elementary schools due to budget constraints.  North Kitsap Schools Foundation says, "strong schools = strong communities," and NKF&R’s firefighters agree. They hope you'll join them in memory of the 9/11 victims as well as in support of North Kitsap Schools Foundation.
