Wind advisory for Puget Sound area tonight; gusts expected to reach 50 MPH

HOOD CANAL — The National Weather Service is predicting strong winds in the Puget Sound area through the night and into Tuesday morning.
The advisory produced by the service states the wins are expected to begin at 5 p.m. and end at 5 a.m., Oct. 16.
Winds are expected to be anywhere from 20 to 30 MPH with gusts up to 50 MPH, depending on location.
The southern winds are expected to "prune dead branches from trees," the advisory states. Falling branches may result in power outages.
A wind advisory from the weather service is issued when sustained winds of 30 to 39 MPH or gusts of 45 to 57 MPH are likely.
