Kitsap County Commissioner Steve Bauer, representing District #1 in North Kitsap, announced he is running for a full four-year term in the fall election.

Bauer is hosting a campaign kick-off event from 5-7 p.m. April 9 at the Island Lake Community Room at Island Lake County Park. In July 2007, the Board of County Commissioners unanimously appointed Bauer to fill the unexpired term of Chris Endresen.

“I have enjoyed my new job tremendously, and I want to continue to deliver real, quantifiable results to the residents of Kitsap County.” Bauer said in a statement.

Bauer said he has a common-sense agenda for Kitsap County’s future, building on a lifetime of community and public service as a city manager, director of finance, volunteer emergency medical technician, wildlife rehabilitator, mediator and member of the U.S. Coast Guard.
