Evening closure of Hood Canal Bridge this Tuesday

Highway 104 at the Hood Canal Bridge will be closed 10-11:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

The 90-minute closure will allow and contractor Kiewit-General to continue with ballasting measurements on the west half of the bridge.

The bridge is scheduled to close to traffic at slack tide so project personnel can conduct surveying and take freeboard measurements to determine the distance from the waterline to the tops of the pontoons. The information collected is necessary so crews can properly adjust the level of the pontoons in the water, according to WSDOT.

The work is weather dependent and subject to change.
