High winds expected early this week

The Kitsap Peninsula could be buffeted by wind gusts up to 60 mph early this week.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for Sunday evening through Monday evening. A high wind watch will be in effect from Monday evening until Tuesday afternoon.

Winds with gusts up to 50 mph are expected to sweep into the area early Monday morning. A second weather system will move in late Monday, with possible wind gusts of 60 mph.

The Weather Service expects the winds to calm by Wednesday.

Temperatures may dip into the high 30s Tuesday night. Rain showers are likely throughout the week.
