Forum Oct. 12 for Kingston Port Commission candidates

KINGSTON — Kingston Port Commission candidates Walt Elliott and Jerry Kirschner will answer the public’s questions at a candidates forum sponsored by the Greater Kingston Chamber of Commerce, Oct. 12, 7 p.m. in the Kingston Cove Yacht Club.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Attendees can write questions on index cards; the questions will be asked by the moderator during the forum. Each candidate will make a three-minute opening statement, will be given one and a half minutes to respond to each question, and will make a three-minute closing statement.

The forum will be moderated by Richard Walker, editor of the Kingston Community News and KingstonCommunityNews.com.

Other forums coming up:

On Oct. 6, the Home Builders Association of Kitsap County hosts a forum for candidates for Kitsap County Board of Commissioners. The forum starts at 11:30 a.m. in the Silverdale Beach Hotel.

On Oct. 13, the League of Women Voters hosts a forum for candidates for Kitsap County Board of Commissioners, Poulsbo City Council, and North Kitsap School Board. The forum starts at 6:30 p.m. in Poulsbo City Hall and will be taped for broadcast over BKAT.

The general election is Nov. 8.
