I hope everyone is adjusting to our new library hours! These hours are posted on our two book drops just outside the Kingston Community Center. We have book marks and magnets with our new hours on them at the Kingston Chamber of Commerce counter and in the library. There is also a large banner on the building with our new hours.

The Needlework Bee will meet in the library on June 6 and 20. Please bring a your small-to-medium project, and be prepared to share and inspire others! The group meets in the library from 6:30-8 p.m. Our library has recently received enhanced lighting from the county which should make your crafting more enjoyable!

The Kingston Book Group will meet at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 7, to discuss “Fahrenheit 451” by Ray Bradbury.

There will be no Friends of the Library meeting in June or July. There will be a Friends of the Library Book Sale on Saturday, July 22, at the Kingston Farmers’ Market.

Preschool Storytimes will continue at 10:30 a.m. June 7 and 14 in the Kingston library. These stories, songs and finger plays are designed to help develop children’s interest in language and reading. After the program, children can pick library books for reading at home, and can sign up for library cards of their own!

Our Summer Reading Program, “Paws, Claws, Scales and Tales,” begins Saturday, June 17. Young people can sign up at any branch of Kitsap Regional Library. Participants who read (or are read to) for 10 hours receive a free paperback book and a free Kitsap County Fair and Stampede ticket!

Summer Chess Club for kids age 6-12 will take place 5-6 p.m. Thursdays, June 29 through Aug. 3, downstairs in the Kingston Community Center. Chess Club is sponsored by Kingston Friends of the Library. Players of all skill levels are welcome to come play and learn.
