In a time when many can use a helping hand, and the food banks cannot keep up with the need, why not start a new Kingston tradition? Instead of spending thousands of dollars, and watching that money literally go up in smoke, Kingston could donate that money to local food banks and other community organizations that help people who need it. A special ceremony could be added to the parade when the money is given to local community support organizations. This would be an Independence Day tradition that shows that Kingston cares and a worthy addtiona to our wonderful and unique celebrations.
