Lost trophy to be returned to 'Mr. Football 1958-59'

Rifling through his garage, Roosevelt Smith stumbled across a golden football. Rather, he stumbled across a copper plaque in the shape of a football, inscribed: “North Kitsap Junior High School, 1958-1959, Ralph Munson, Mr. Football.” He realized the recipient would likely still be alive and wanted to return the plaque if he could.

North Kitsap’s prep lacrosse team finished third in the Narrows/Olympic Conference with a record of 7-6-0, earning a playoff berth. North Kitsap plays Columbia River (7-3-0, Central-South Division II) at 5 p.m. May 14 in Camas.

Kingston tightens its hold on league soccer title

Kingston dominated Olympic 7-0 to improve to 8-1-0, 11-1-0. The Buccaneers followed up with a win over Port Angeles on April 30, and then shut out North Mason 7-0 on May 3.
