The North Kitsap High School gym was filled with devoted fans Jan. 15 and the highly competitive rivals each had something to prove. The Vikings were on their home court, undefeated in the Olympic 2A league and No. 1 in the standings (6-0, 12-2). They had already beaten the Buccaneers 64-45 at Kingston earlier in the season and another win would solidify their league dominance.

The Viking Cup soccer tournament, which traditionally attracted teams from Washington, Oregon, Idaho and British Columbia, is returning. Look for 40 teams of all levels — premier, select, developmental and summer tournament — to converge on Poulsbo this Memorial Day weekend.
Now the Seahawks head to top-seeded Carolina next Sunday for the divisional round with the notion that fate is on their side.
The Poulsbo Piranha Swim Team placed second at the 2015 Pacific Northwest Fall Divisional Championships, Dec. 5-6 at the Olympic Aquatic Center in Silverdale. Ten clubs were entered. Strong performances by almost every swimmer helped the team to a great finish.
