Kingston High School girls cross country team takes first place at league meet Thursday

SEQUIM — The Kingston High School girls cross country team came out on top during the Olympic League Championships Thursday afternoon.

The Kingston girls team (36) finished three points under the North Kitsap girls team (39).

Among the girls competing, Kingston's Marina Roberts finished first, with a time of 17:32.88; setting a new course record. Roberts finished more than 20 seconds ahead of North Kitsap's Reagan Colyer (17:58.84).

The Kingston boys team finished third and North Kitsap team finished fourth. North Kitsap's Ian Christen (16:14.80) ranked among the top varsity boys runners, finishing fourth. Olympic High School's Matthew Lutz (15:52.83) earned the top time of the day.
