Bucs eliminated | Boys soccer

POULSBO — The Capital Cougars eliminated the last team representing the Olympic League May 23 at North Kitsap Stadium.

The Cougars defeated the Kingston Buccaneers 1-0 during the quarterfinals of the 2A State Boys Soccer Tournament.

It was the first time the Bucs were shutout this season.

The Bucs (18-3) were one game from being guaranteed placement in the state tournament. The quarterfinal appearance is the second by the Kingston program in school history.

The Cougars advance to the semifinals to play Sedro-Woolley May 30 at Sunset Chev Stadium at 8 p.m.

Win or lose, the Cougars are guaranteed at least a fourth-place finish.
